Engine Quit, No Start, No power to fuel pump, GPR.

My truck quit while on the freeway on ramp last evening. I have a 2001 F350 with and Edge Evolution programmer. The programmer is set to the tow setting. I have no power to my fuel pump, my GPR and the wait to start light is not coming on when I turn the key to the start position. The engine cranks hard when I engage the starter motor.
I had my Edge programmer with me and plugged it in to see if any codes would show up. The programmer was unable to access the PCM and prompted me several times to turn the key on. I turned the key on several times and had the same "turn key on" response from the programmer.
I have checked all fuses and swapped relays around with no change. The truck instantly died like I had shut the key off. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Unplug the wiring connector from the back of the fuel bowl, then find the blown fuse and replace it. Your fuel heater shorted out.

What Pikachu said.
Check the fuse box under the dash. There is a 30amp fuse...bottom of the second column from the right. Probably blown. The ECM is also on this circuit which is why the engine died, no WTS light etc.
On the back side of the fuel bowl is a 3wire harness. Unplug it, replace the fuse and fire it up.
You then have 3 options....
1 - leave it as is. Fuel bowl heater is really only needed for arctic conditions. But then you have also disabled the "Water in fuel" sensor.
2 - Cut the wire for the heater, (I am sure someone here has the info on which one). Plug it back in and now only the heater is disabled.
3 - replace the heater element, and unless it is fairly new, replace the filter too while you are there.
Filter about $25 depending on where you get it from. Heater element about $45.

Thanks for the input on the fuse! I will try it tonight when I get home from work. I did go through my owners manual, roadside, last evening and checked every fuse I thought may have had an issue. I do not remember checking a fuse under the dash, just under the hood. I did swap a couple of relays around under the dash. Thanks again!

Thanks for the fuse number! It is #30 in my owners manual as well.
I can't wait to get home this evening to try it!

Wow. That's the first time I can remember that the fuel bowl heater hasn't been the cause. Not to make you sound foolish, but are you sure you got the right connector? If you did, I would continue by disconnecting the 42 pin connector from the engine and replacing the fuse again. If it doesn't pop, the problem is on the engine side of the wiring. In any case, it maybe a chafed wire. Check the underside of the wiring harness to the 42 pin also, it can rub on the valve cover.

I hope I unplugged the correct connector. I unplugged the connector on the back, bottom left of the fuel filter asembly. Two pin connector with two wires running to it. It would not be the first time I unplugged the wrong conector!!!

Yup, that sounds like the one. To be sure, did it have a little metal locking clip on it that you had to open to remove the connector? If it did, it was not the right one, lol.

Nope! no metal locking clip. That almost sounds like a fuel line:>)

It would have been the IPR solenoid. It was the closest one to the fuel bowl heater I could think of.

Thanks for the help everyone. I will try disconnecting the 42 pin connector tomorrow and see what happens, I will also look for any exposed wires.
Have a great evening!
