1991 ranger passenger/right side coil spring bucket/tower
My buddy has a 1991 ranger 2wd 5speed and his upper coil spring bucket or tower (depending on wear you ask) has rusted and broken in 2 on his passenger side. The bracket that holds the shock and coil spring that is rivited onto the frame. We spent all saturday going from junk yard to junk yard trying to fing a decent replacement, well we didnt have any luck. Ive been searching and searching the enterweb trying to locate a stock or aftermarket. We went to autozone, napa, oreillys, and like normally they looked dumb founded when asked about the part (as if we were in there asking for blinker fluid for a 2011 ranger mach 1) If anyone could please help us out on locating the part, id really appreciate it.

Are you in Cleveland? If so, take a ride on down south, and find a boneyard or pick-you-part in a part of the country where they don't have so much salt and winter.
You'll likely not find a good one locally unless an immigrant has brought one from a warmer clime and then junked it. I don't think it was available as a separate part from Ford, but even if it was, you are past the sell-by date, I think.
I know the bolt-on front-most cross-member 'plate' was available as a separate part, but riveted parts generally aren't.
Might be time for a new(er) vehicle as if that part is rusted into two pieces, the rest of the frame and cross-members might be pretty close. I'd inspect the drivers side particularly as it would have encountered nearly the same 'salt wash' over time.

Add: If you are really adventurous, and the rest of the truck except the frame, is in good shape, you could buy a donor truck with sheet metal damage, and swap the drivetrain, suspension and body works to the other frame. It can be done if you have patience and a large tree to hand the cab from.

You should be able to have enough meat left over. If you grind down the rivet head and remove everything properly, you shouldn't have any issues. Basically clean up the holes the rivets went through and replace them with our Grade 8 hardware.

Thanks so much for the quick response. I've actually found the part number: E3TZ5A206B and its still being made for the passenger side. I hope this helps some others out with the same issue. I will definately go 1/2" grade 8 with lock washers when I slap it on for him. Ill just grind the rivets and knock them out with a punch. Thanks again
