The only time I ever got anything was when scrolling over highlighted words in posts but that doesn't seem to happen as of late, I don't get any adds on the page either other than the Tire Rack.

 

The other use for Adblock plus is to get rid of ostentatious images in signatures.

I don't get popups unless I'm not logged in as I'm a supporter. I also use Adblock with Safari on my Mac. And I use Ghostery which shows this site to have more widgets, advertising and analytics (23) than any other site that I visit.

 

I am a supporter also and have to allow some pop ups for my work account to function properly. I get bombed with ads and crap on this site. I didn`t realize how twisted alot of panties got by complaining though. Have to deal with it until I finish my truck because there is a wealth of knowlege here. I`ll be gone soon thereafter.

 

Ghostery lets you easily choose which popups to allow on which site.

 

I use the app, and it has problems, but the regular website site? Forget it, is pretty much totally unusable because of all the extraneous BS. Understand FTE isn't running a charity, but jeez.

 

Adblock isn't blocking signature pics for me?

Take a look at your cookies sometime, it will astound you what you pick up moving around the net. I spent an hour deleting any I didn't need the other day.

 

Yes, some of those cookies are good and some are not. There is one for instance that keeps you from having to log back in to FTE each time. The trick is to separate the good from the bad. Ghostery does a pretty good job of reducing the number of bad cookies while letting you leave the good ones.

As for AdBlock if I right click on the part of the message that I want to block out it brings up a slider that you can then adjust to remove as much as you want and then save that level of blockage for the future. I don't think that it will block out all the signature images as each has it's own name but you can block out the entire signature block including the images if you want.

 

I guess I'm just lucky....I've gotten Zero ads that I can ever remember while browsing on my computer. I get none on the phone app obviously.
