Ok Ive only had this thing for a month now and I have had no issues at all and I'm loving it!! But today on the way home from work I stopped at subway for a sandwich and when I went to start it, it didn't start right up, it turned over a few times before it started( not normal). And when it did start it had a sort of spark/fuel knock kinda sound, which went away after it started running. It ran great on the way home. When I got home I turned it off and tried it again, and the same thing happened. Do I just need a fuel filter and better gas?? It freaked me out a little. I have a 2006 expy 5.4 king ranch.

 

I agree that it sounds like a fuel starvation issue. That could mean a dirty filter, a bad regulator, or a failing fuel pump.

 

I'm changing the filter today, I hope that is all that it is. I'm also going to put some fresh gas and a fuel additive in for an added precaution.

 

Changed the fuel filter, Belt tensioner an idler pulley and the belt today. She is purring like a kitten again!! Bad news is looks like my main oil seal is leaking.
