Wood Block in Bed Cross Member Channel

So while I was looking under the bed today and taking some measurements to try to figure out what I am going to do to replace the bed floor I notced it had a wood block in the cross member channel where it was bloted to the Frame. It looks like it may be facotry as it had the same paint covering it that is on the underbody.

So was this from the factory or something someone did later to level out the bed?

here is a pic

Thanks

Matt

Yup, Ford put them there. I had a buddy cut some from oak for me when I restored mine. I think the short box doesn't use them.

OK, Thank you. It looked like it might be factory, but after 48 ears there is no telling. They still look solid, but I will inspect them closer when I pull the bed back off to make sure
