Questions on building a 460
Hey guys I want to build another 460. The one i have now is about 400-500hp and its just not enough. I was thinking either a blower or twin turbos. I was wanting to reach 1200-1500hp not really a daily driving but driven maybe once a week.( of course not when its raining or snowing.) Im not sure yet what im going to put it in. I was considering around an 04 mustang but i would be fine with the 94-98 generation if i can swap out the headlights for the 04 style( i just dont like the 2 part headlights.) Ive got a guy who can buld the transmission however i need it. Now as far as the engine. I know i will need forged internals but what kind of setup would i need for forced induction? and should i go fuel injected or stick with carberators? My friend is running a 1400hp 454 camaro around town and well 500hp just doesnt hold a match to it. anyways i would need it to be built to last wether that means dishing out more $ or (i hate to go this route) reducing the hp a bit.

This only goes to an estimated 800 hp NA, so it won't do you much good:

"Built to last" is a relative phrase. 1200 hp motors are meant for all out racing rather than cruising around town, and sure don't last forever.
Carbureted would be easier and maybe cheaper, but for a motor that powerful, efi will give you more longevity through better metering of fuel and air.
I'm not sure what type of injector setup you would need, or how big of injectors.
If you are really sold on the idea of building it, get ready to shell out some serious cash. Don't forget about beefing the heck out of that stang chassis to handle it!
