1979 f250 400ci not turning over

Ok, the title is unclear cuz i dont know what someone will do a search for.
I turn the key to START and i need to turn it hard to make the connection. It almost seems that I have to turn it off, then on again to get it to engage.
I have my multimeter ready!

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch honestly.

Yeah, was thinking that. It turns to start the first time, then i gotta turn it off then back and it starts better.
