Selling my 95 PSD

Yeah, I did some research and there is a thread started in 2011 that talks about it. Seems all PSD trucks do it whether Canadian or American market. I am surprised nobody has sued Ford over this. So theoretically, this truck could have 2.4 million miles on it, but it would only register between 300k and 400k. That is unsettling to say the least.

I don't know why my mechanic is against it. I guess because of the bad luck I had with the two Jags. He says the parts are more expensive (like Jag parts) and that with that many miles on it, I am playing with fire as to when it will break down again. My reasoning other than what I have already stated (replacing both vehicles with one that gets better mpg than both) is that for the price I can't pass it up. These trucks are selling for a premium, and I am getting one for less than $3k (after I pay to have the trans installed, and fix the AC) I have no plans to sell it as I want to use it myself, but should I find myself in the position of having to sell it, I am sure it will go for more than what I have in it.
The door sticker says it has a 3.73:1 rear axle ratio, so that would help in the mpg department. I cannot tell what my F350 has because the door sticker is missing. However, I am told there were only two ratios used in this truck in those years, 3.55:1 and 4.10:1. I am guessing it has the 4.10 gears. Of course, I don't know if Centurion changed the rear gears either. I have not been able to crawl under it and see if there is a tag on the diff case.

You just cannot beat these trucks. A big part of the reason that I bought my 97 is that the engineers hadn't figured out it was a good idea to put the frackin motor under the hood.
