php hydra plus tony wildman custom tune

I emailed Tony Wildman yesterday Saturday about better shifting with the xle4 pcm and asked if I need to buy a better pcm. He said not to spend the money as he can fine tune a heavy tow tune for the hydra. Today Sunday less than 20 hours later I loaded the new Tony Wildman HEAVY TOW for my xle4. Now this is service better then expected
Will report back after testing out new heavy tune on xle4

Don't know anything about the Hydra. Does this mean Tony emailed you the tunes? 20 hours is too quick for 2 way mail.

The tunes are modified and put up on the server. The owner can then download the tunes directly into the Hydra with a USB cable.

Sorry Rich, but I need to correct you on that before anybody gets confused.

Tuning that is purchased through anyone EXCEPT Power Hungry Performance is emailed to the customer (encrypted and targeted through HydraFlash to a chip-specific serial number). PHP never has others' tuning in their possession.

Yes I had to provide the serial number to tony from TOTAL DIESEL PERFORMANCE. Tony was quick responding and emailed me NEXT day my encrypted tune for my serial number Hydra. Tony also sells the Hydra and other chips but the hydra lets you buy custom tunes from other tuner's like Tony Wildman.
cleatus12r, I am also getting a custom heavy tune from PHP and will compare both. It is so nice having the hydra and be able to do this
My e99 has the xle4 pcm which is not the desired one from what alot of folks told me buy. Jay from PHP and Tony from Total Diesel Performance both said not to spend money on a new pcm as they both can change shifting points to help my towing mode tune. (Hence CUSTOM TUNING)
I will test the tune out today. I have a heavy tow tune comming from PHP as well.

I don't know if I'd call them "folks". I'd be more inclined to call them "morons" because all they ever do is regurgitate misinformation. Just because a person reads something on the internet DOES NOT make it true. I'd love to get into a discussion about how the early 1999 PCMs are just as good and "tunable" as the later ones, but there are far too many 'tards out there that have too much forum "street cred" and I'd be outnumbered even though I have the experience to back up my claims.

cleatus12r You were also one of the advisers that said not to run out and find a new pcm as the xle4 could be tuned. I took your advice and will be looking to try PHP custom tune as well

Thank you for clarifying that.

I'm relieved that you guard-rail me in when I inadvertently start to take people over the cliff.

Today I tested Tony Wildman heavy tow tune on my xle4 pcm and I am glad I took his and cleatus12r advice of NOT upgrading the pcm. The shifting in his tow tune worked great.
