Simpleness is probably true, but I think some lockers are as strong. Just my opinion.

It's been a long time since I posted and my truck now has a new setup. Went with a 4" lift and 315/75R16 tires, only driven the truck roughly twenty miles but I have no side effects from the larger tires. Actually while turning I dont get that locked up chirp chirp AGAIN only driven twenty miles so time will tell

I have put about 1,500 miles on my Detroit locker so far and I love it. I am also running 315/75/16 tires and it doesn't chirp the tires and is silent going around corners, the driveline does have some extra slack in it and it clunks when you get on or off the accelerator quickly, and occasionally when I put it in gear I can feel a bump in the rear almost like someone tapped your bumper, but other than those minor quirks I don't notice it other than the fact it gets better traction than before, I believe if my truck was an automatic the locker would be completely unnoticeable.

Your truck looks great, SuperDutyScaler. Glad to hear it's working out well so far with the locker and tire combo.

Thankyou , I did goof up when measuring for the rear block. Jacked the frame up by the hitch and did my measuring....5" block got me DEAD EVEN FRONT TO BACK what I forget was add another 1 or 1.5 inches to the block height to get my rake back for towing and hauling. So now I blew 160 dollars on the 5" ready lift block thats worthless to me now becase I forgot to add rake height and now have to order a 6" or 6.5" block from PMF!

So anyone want a brand new 5" block with 2 miles on it? LOL

Been some time but im back for an update, now have 188k on the truck. I forget exact mileage on locker install but it has plenty of miles on it now. So as before my tire wear is normal, no cupping or tearing the tread up. Normal life just like the stock crappy factory limited slip HAHA
The occasional bang I was getting I can honestly say it has not happened in a LONG time, now watch it happen every day for the next month cuz I'm posting how quiet its been. Yesterday I went to look at a used dirtbike for my son, was in Pennsylvania heading up 76 to exit 328 rt202. Now if you know this road that offramp is concrete and it's old so nice a worn in. So I'm almost off the ramp about to head straight onto 202 gave the old girl a little too much juice (my tires are getting old now) and let's just say I was doing a scene from fast and furious Tokyo drift 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 it wasnt like the truck kicked out and just slid across three lanes. It was a nice controlled big old one ton power drift , now could one say it was the lockers fault or the old worn tires? Yeah a open diff or the stock LS would never had had both tires locked so the rear slides out but I might have used too much throttle 😈

Doing gear lube change this week since it been a few years. I'll take some pictures of the fluid to show any metallic

Nice..... Just to add mine in the rear is been 100 %. And guess what I just put one in my front end last week. Not together yet doing rust work on everything that needs it. Took the lock right and stock diff out. Too clunky. I'll post a pick.

It's called a Grizzly but Detroit company makes it. My lock right is for a Dana 50 and yes I'll probably sell it.

Yukon makes the Grizzly locker and they are good units, I was going to get one for the rear of my truck but I got a better deal on the Detroit locker so I went with it.

Saw a review. Guy matched part for part Grizzly and Detroit he said made by the same company. Every part was exact.

Detroit lockers are made by Eaton, Grizzly lockers are Yukon.
