Would anyone use new heads like this?
Got my new scj heads Friday..... Would you put these on your truck?
Both heads are exactly the same, the pictures I just posted the rocker arm hole is drilled into the intake runners, the intake runner is each port. Also the accessory holes are drilled all the way to the head bolt hole, the valve cover bolts are also drilled into the intake runners.
Needless to say I found 15 problems with the construction, and 16 it came with no valves/springs. I think they are lucky I received the heads at 5:30 on a Friday.
Would anyone of you kept these and ran them?

I'd send them back
I'd be on fire if they were my original heads and rebuilt like that. I hope they were cores you bought to have reconditioned.
No way should there be hanging slag metal like that, and the valve guides shouldn't be hanging out in the valve pocket. The few years I spent in the auto machinist field back in the late 80's I never saw guides hanging out like that. Seems like it would induce unwanted turbulence.
...and holes all the way into the ports!!? Threaded holes opened up into the combustion chamber?
Not only would I return them, I'd get your money back and buy from a more reputable machine shop.

It is common to have a rocker stud hole into the intake runner,(BB Chevy as a example) just use some sealer and they will seal up fine, I have not seen a valve cover bolt hole into a intake port, and the accessory hole into a head bolt hole is also common.
The valve guide into the port is fine, the longer guide is actually a good thing, it makes for more of a stable valve motion and less guide wear, unless you have roller rocker tips then the valve motion is minimized.
