Here are some Bolt action pens I make...most are $45 shipping included I have Olivewood, red oak, cocobolo, brazilian walnut, Brazilian rose wood, leopard wood. The more expensive ones are $75 shipping included which are tru-stone: blue turquoise with gold streaks and white with black. Takes Parker style refills.
Colors for the metal/bolt action portions are:
24K gold plate
Gun metal gray
Enamel black
Antique brass
Chrome
Yes these take parker style refills the "bullet" tip unscrews and theres a spring which slides out with the refill. this pic you can see the bolt in the closed position. In the first pic you can see the turquoise pen is extended and the "bolt" moves forward and locks in place. The bolt and clip can be reversed for left handed users.
Are you using anything different to turn the tru-stone? That stuff is nice and I have a few pieces to turn for a guy. But just have not broke down and turned them.

Just carbide bit...slow is the key or it fractures and turns into a bunch of pieces...I think it turns easier than acrylic.
Drilling, make sure you go a little at a time and dont let the shavings build up or try to drill it all at once or the pressure will crack/fracture it.

Thanks will sure keep that in mind when I get started. I have some Cherry Burl blanks that are like that also. Better clean out the shavings and go slow or its going to be scrap fast.
