390FE Oil Restriction to heads
Hi All,
I read an article about putting Holley jets into the oil holes of FE heads so that the main bearings would not be starved for oil at higher rpm's. From what I understand oil drainage is a problem for these heads and they get more than enough oil going to them. I have read that sometimes up to a quart can linger under the valve cover. Does anyone know what size jets to buy? Thanks!

X2, I used #70's.
This is a simple mod. The jets just sit in the galley, there's no drilling or tapping. The bolt for the rocker arm stand keeps the jet from coming out.
You can see in the picture there is more than enough oil flow to the rocker arms. I'm using a cordless drill to run the oil pump.
