The dash lights come on, stereo comes on, door chime dings, dome light comes on. Everything electronic works, but when I turn the key it doesn't start. No clicking, no "whining", nothing at all happens. I had the battery checked yesterday and it is still good. Battery terminals are super clean, they even spark when I take them on and off. Tried hitting the starter but still doesn't work. Anyone had this trouble before or know of anything else i could try? Any help is very much appreciated.

 

I would follow the troubleshooting protocals....if you don't have a manual, check out most of the corp chain part stores online as they provide the guides free or helms...they have a subscription service that's as little as $20 IIRR a day for access to the OEM service/repair manuals specific to your vehicle

 

Try cleaning the contacts on the starter.

 

I have an 05 and im having a similar problem. Except when I turn the key it makes a noise in the starter like its trying to start but it wont turn over. I also crawled under there and banged on it.This leads me to believe the starter is seized. Just curious if their is a way to check the starter before I buy one?

 

Have you checked the positive wire connection at the starter? The big wire. They are common to corrosion and fall right off the starter when the corrosion gets bad enough. Just something to check.

We've had them in our fleet at work still click when the key is turned but won't start. If the wire hasn't completely fallen off there might still be a little continuity going through the wire. Get under the truck and give it a little pull and it pulls right off. Hope this helps

 

There is a little corrosion on the wires so i might pull them off and clean them up and try it again. Thanks for your input.

 

I had a similar situation on Saturday. Turned out my battery was dead. Just like that it quit with no warning. I'd try a new battery.
