Weird

So I struggled with getting my oil cooler out. Tried taking my fender well out... Negitive. Tried taking my steering thing a loose. Don't know how.. So I had to take my motor mounts loose and jack the motor up. Then I had to take the mount off the motor to get it out. Looked at it and figured it was just the front gasket leaking oil and not the o rings. I couldn't get the caps off. Well I got it all back together. Got fresh oil and oil filter, I start filling the radiator up with water just to see if I'm leaking. And sure enough water pouring out on passenger side. Got under there and looked, a freeze plug just popped out and was laying there. Haven't had the chance to put a new on in yet due to rain. But that's weird. Maybe the strain on jacking the motor popped it out? I thought it was weird and figured I'd share

that is weird. are you sure when you jacked up the engine you didn't accidentally press something against that plug, that might have forced it out?

Well I wouldn't think so. It was just laying there. If it was pushed in it wouldn't have fell the opposite way. Maybe the cold weather with no antifreeze for a few days popped it out. Still haven't put the new one in yet. Hopefully that's the only one. When I had my 98 dodge I was running water and it froze one night and I went to start it and nothing. Let it thawed. Filled with water to see if anything happened.... Freeze plug. Went 20 miles round trip to get another one. Put it in. Filled with water.... Another one. Did this 6 times. Back and forth to autozone all day. Finally I got it fixed and from now on I no longer run water. Lol. Mistake learned the hard way.

That sounds like a bad day... I would have given up and bought a set after 2....
I think that Racin tapped his freeze plug holes and ended up putting in pipe plugs to be sure that he didnt have issues. I am hesitant to do that in my area due to cold weather but it may be an option.

One day I'm going to pull the motor out and clean all the grease and grime. Fix all the little oil leaks and replace all of the freeze plus. Bad part is I have to use the expandable ones. I can't never get the regular ones back in.
