56 f100 5.0 coyote swap project (help please)

I went with the 4R75W when it looked like the 6R80 was not going to be supported by the aftermarket vendors, because Ford had made it so difficult with it's programming. I had to get on with the project. A few months later the 6R80 is an alternative, maybe. Time will tell when some have actually made it work.

I think a few of us have been waiting to hear about these new control packs.

At least they're advertising it and it will be a real option. I think they've lost out a lot to the eases of an LS conversion. Of course they will probably price it out of range for most of us though.

I talked to a tech guy at Ford Racing about the automatic trans Coyote Power Module the other day. He told me they do not yet have pricing on the automatic package. The manual package goes for around $16,000.00. He said to call back after the New Year and by then they may have pricing for the automatic package.
I'm seriously looking at this package for my F1 as the engine-trans-controller package may be the same price or slightly more as me putting the package together myself from multiple sources. Them doing it simplifies it greatly and me not having to struggle with the computer tuning is great.

From the info I read in the press release from Ford Racing at the PRI show, the Coyote engine ECU for the automatic tranny is only going to be offered as a complete from the factory drive train package: New crate motor, new crate tranny, ECU. Currently there are no plans to offer the automatic ECU as a stand alone part like the one for the standard tranny.

From what I understand it will ONLY work with the (likely specially modified) engine and transmission included in the package, not with any other production parts.

We are waiting on the control pack strategy so we can check it out, once I see the calibration we will know what we can make it work with, I doubt they are doing anything special, Ford uses production motors in their crate packages

Look, you can put a 2011-2014 5.0L/6R80 from a F150 or a mustang into any vehicle you want. I highly recommend you get a wrecked 2011-2014 vehicle that runs and lot-drives to use a your parts vehicle so you know you have all the parts you need.
Depending on mileage and vehicle type, you can expect to pay $6,000 to $9,000 plus shipping, less if you are a patient shopper. Once you have all the parts you need from the wreck, you might sell what is left to get some cash back.
Anyone interested in what parts are needed? I can post here if you want.
The existing vehicle wiring can be modified and simplified to allow the powertrain to function correctly in any vehicle. The engine harness and the transmission harness do not need to be touched, just leave them on the powertrain. The engine compartment harness (14290 base number) and the instrument panel harness (14401) and the rear body harness (14005) need to be modified. Remove these harnesses carefully, do not damage any connectors! Once removed these can be shipped to wiring guy and modified for about $1000. This usually takes about 3-4 weeks. They will come back with unneeded wiring removed and with each connector labeled as to where it goes.
So for the cost of the donor vehicle and about $1000 plus a lot of your labor, you can have a 5.0L/6R80 powered vehicle of your choice. You can even make it California emission legal if you want, cause you have all the parts to do that if you want.
