Hey guys I just moved my dads Ram 1500 in the driveway and I didnt realize how comfortable the seats were. I know all the seats in these trucks bolt up the same but did the seat itself change? I know 99-07 is the same but what about 08+? I saw a 2014 the other day and noticed the headrests are different which is why I though about this all from moving my dads truck lol.

I plan to eventually reupholster my seats so I would rather switch than reupolster the same ones if I will gain some comfort.

I did some digging last night and it looked liek the seats were the same minus the plastic trim on the bottom from 99-10 so i guess there might only be a difference for 11+.

Pics for reference

99-10 seats

11+ (i couldnt get the picture to copy so i pasted a link)

I believe the plastic is only there to cover the electronic controls. The '11+ seat pictured has the manual handle in front. The back and headrest area do look significantly different though.

I'm curious about your original question as well. I've been keeping an eye out for tan leather Lariat seats with the shoulder mounted belt. I'd like to get the belt out of the way on my SC when both doors are open. Plus i'm short and tired of reaching way back to grab it!!

I have a super cab as well, I know when the 11+ trucks came out they moved the seat belt form the seat to the rear half doors so that's the only real obstacle when mounting up an 11+ seat into an older SC. Not sure if its possible to convert the doors to house the belts or not but your right the difference looks strictly looks like the back and headrests changed.

Also I'm the opposite I'm 6'5" so i have to reach back and like bend my back to reach the top f the belt so i can grab it and swing it over my shoulder lol.

These are what i'm looking for. Adjustable headrest and shoulder mounted belt. Also, I'm pretty sure the rear "oh my gosh" handles can be installed where the SC belt currently mounts. There's another hole with a plug/cover and the depressions look the same as a CC. That's the plan at least...

The early 99, 99, 99.5, and 2000 seat sew style and shape are different than what was pictured above and described as 99-07.

In otherwords, were I to replace the driver's seat only with a driver's seat similar to the tan seats in the eBay photo above, and kept my original passenger side seat, then I would have two entirely different looking tan seats in my 2000 truck. Ford changed the seat design and sew style in late 2000 for the 2001 model year.

What about the foam cushions, did those change at all? I just noticed how much more comfortable my dads ram seat was because the back cushioning almost cups you in it. It doesn't have a lumbar system but its made so you dont need it from what it seems. Just curious if the newer seats are similar I know the SDs all have lumbar.

I replaced the seats in my supercab that were like these http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjAw/z/o8oAAMXQVT9TCVlY/$_57.JPG with leather seats from a 05 supercab they look like the same seat but are way more comfortable than the cloth xlt seats. The early trucks 99-00 and i think at least part of 01 also had different shaped seats more round like was posted above and the seat belts weren't in the seat backs like the big picture a couple post up. Also the only 08 supercab I have ever been in didn't have the intergrated seatbelts either cant confirm they are all like that but can't imagine they aren't. There are also no intergrated armrest in 08 or after they used the console lid or the fold down jump seat as the arm rest. So for a direct bolt in of seats with out having to figure out how to attatch seat belts and pass inspection your best looking for seats from 02-07. I have pictures of the seats I put in if you want let me know and I'll post them up.

Good to know! I know all the seats will interchange because you can put a super cab seat in a crew or reg cab so you will have 2 seat belts lol. I was just curious but unfortunately it looks like I'm stuck with the 01ish-07 with integrated belts. Sometimes i wish i had a crew cab so i could do things like this lol.

Just bought a set of 40/20/40's out of a 2013 to install in a reg cab 2001 i see no major differences as of yet beside electrical connecter on passenger seat (airbag sensor i believe) these are xl cloth underpowered seats ... may be a week or two but ill have a answer if they work or not and what has to be changed

these seat are normal seats with no integrated seat belts (minus the center jump seat)

Ah i see your reasoning now not sure how i overlooking the fact ur talking about a ext cab side by side i will post soon as a get taking them out... being 8 degrees and 12in of snow coming in this weekend it may be a week or two... but plastic is much more styled and cloth pattern pretty much matches my 2001 perfectly. i plan to update to a 07 dash and 2013 door panels as well

on question i have though is does the old 2001 have a airbag weight sensor in the seat? cant seem to located it if it does

Juat curious to see them next to each other. No worries take tour time lol I wouldn't do it either that cold and with snow on the way. You in MA? I heard its gonna snow here this weekend as well.

Unfortunately I'm not sure about the airbag srndor man. I don't think it does though.
