wheel joint question

got a 79 f250 4x4
this is a dumb question and I know im going to catch alot of flack for asking but Im having a brain fart. Probably due to this terrible cold I have.
Im getting ready to change wheel joints. The axles should have C clips hoilding the axles in correct?
I know its a stupid question but i had to ask.

If you are talking the front axle u joints on your (79 F250 4x4) and it has a D44, no c clips that is a 1/2 ton axle thing.

Or are you meaning ball joints? Still no issue with c clips.

.

Are you meaning "universal joints" or "ball joints" or maybe "wheel bearings"?

Not familiar with what a "wheel joint" is?
