Hi Guys,I am going to be be greasing my bearings on my 95 f350 4x4 dana 60 axle with Warne manual lock-outs,my question is there any special sockets or tools I need to get the hub off in order to repack the bearings.

 

Not sure on a D60, but I'd imagine it's the same as my D44, which takes a 4-prong axle nut socket.

I'd know it's expensive but I'd buy a good one if I were you. I got mine from Advance Auto, thankfully I was smart enough to bring the nut in to the store and match it up to the socket. I don't know what Chinese junk factory makes sockets for Advance, but I had to go to THREE different stores in 2 different counties before I found one where the prongs were actually positioned the right way so as to line up with the nut.

I guess they have something like 20% allowable tolerance on their drawings over there in China... damn junk.

 

How tight do the lock nuts have to be upon re-installation ?
