power issue 391FT

hi guys.. I have a '74 L800 10-wheeler (dump) with the 391FT. I am looking to replace the distributor with a pertronix ignition.. I am not sure what pertronix unit to buy... if anyone knows a part# I'd sure appreciate it. I see the necessary bushing on e-bay so I don't expect a problem finding that.
This truck starts, idles and runs smoothly right up to 35mph where it seems to max out. The goverened Holley carb was replaced by a comparable non-goverened Edelbrock, (I do not exceed 3800 rpm's) but no changes have been made to the dist. (yet) There is no sputtering, no backfiring.. this engine runs very nicely to about 35mph. you would swear it's governed somehow at 35.
this engine does not smoke and does not use any fluids. It has 24k miles.
After reading the myriad of little things (dist-related) that could be possible culprits I decided to try the pertronix.. just want to get the right one. Thank you guys.

Yes but going with pertronix wont you loose the governer and tack? Your
symptoms are typical with bad dist. bushings. Mine did the same thing
just go to Napa for another, there will be a core charge. Your goverened
kind of high aint ya, all mine are set at 3200........(which I never need)
rarely go over 28 or 2900. I think the dist. was around 60 bucks or so.

I did a pertronix set & coil on my 65 f 750 a few years back. The pertronix site had all the fitment info I needed. Did the edelbrock conversion too. Both well worth the money. I get 70 mph out of it w/ a 5 speed trans/ 2 spd differential & 20" wheels.
