93 1st gen 57,000 mi. My new toy

My new toy. Extra low miles and runs great. Just getting used to her at the moment. I've got a few items I want to work on and I'll be getting advise from you experts. My other truck is a 94 XLT and I normally hang out in the older truck forum.

here it is...enjoy.

Very nice, clean looking rig. The radius arm bushings are rubber unless they've been replaced with aftermarket pieces.

There is a wide variety of things you can do to it, it just depends on what plans you have for it, and much money you're looking to spend on it. A good start would be to pull the spout connector out and advance the base timing a few degrees. That one will make a difference and it's free.

really not looking to modify much. I would like to do the bushings. the radius arms have been replaced it looks like, but I'll probably change them again when I do the rest of the front. Plan on giving it a tune up this weekend. New plugs, wires, D cap and maybe the coil.

I was toying with the idea if dropping the front to give it a little rake. It seems the the least amount of drop I can find is 3" and I think that will be too much rake. the factory springs are lower than stock f150 springs I beleive. Anyone got any ideas on dropping it about 2"?

A 3" drop spring will drop a Lightning 2".

One could just put a lower profile front tire on. Then you have two extra for the rear.

My dad has the same 95 SVT lightning .it has 31k and never seen rain or snow.the Gen 1 is My favorite truck ever. My advice to you is to keep it out of the snow and keep it all bone stock. The more people who customize them the more $$$$ your truck will be worth. You now own a pice of ford history. That truck is beautiful. I wanted a new truck like a lightning but we all it don't exist so this is the closest I could find. It was hard to find. Had to order it from ford. It's a work in progress. I will soon post pics of pops 95 Gen 1 . Same as u except tube bumper.

That truck is beautiful. I agree with the above. Keeping it as Ford made it is a good idea to maintain its value. Definitely keep it out of the snow! Congrats on your purchase!
