'07 F150 4x4 4.6L, EGR location
Hey y'all,
Where is the EGR valve on the 4.6, approximately?
I had a check engine light scanned at Autozone today.
Exhaust Gas
Recirculation Flow
Insufficient
Detected
That was what the scanner read on its display.
Sounds like an EGR, according to the associate.
Any thoughts?

I didn't see the actual code on the scanner.
He was using an Actron scanner.
The quick test results were:
Exhaust Gas
Recirculation Flow
Insufficient
Detected
MIL
I found the EGR location on the motor.
I probably just have to clean the EGR and ports.
But at 60,000 miles maybe I should replace the EGR.

Well, I replaced the EGR yesterday; So far so good, The check engine light cleared.
The original EGR looks pretty clean, I was surprised I didn't see any clogged ports.
The EGR pipe that connects the EGR to the catalytic converter was a Bear to get loosened!
I was worried about cracking the intake manifold, trying to get it loose.

Good 'ole PB Blaster saved me a lot of grief; I don't know if would've gotten it loose.
It amazes me that 4 autoparts stores didn't have the EGR in stock. I guess if I would've ordered one ahead of time; I could've saved a little cash.
I bought a OE Motorcraft replacement from a local Ford dealership for $180.
