Well, how cold WAS it?
I had to do some scrambling to make sure the vehicles were ready for the cold this week. Being up near the mountains, we bottomed out at +3 F. Tuesday morning. Since our house isn't finished yet, we were hunkered down in the basement, which I managed to keep about 60 degrees. The upstairs dropped to 15. No frozen pipes, and all of the cars started, even the non-Ford. How did the rest of you manage?

Hey Gargoyle, just saw this post....glad no pipes for you. Bro-in-law works up in Pickens, said they had water line calls all week after stuff thawed out.
The week you posted I had 7F on my truck when I started....we had our heat pump go out that week...woke up to 55F in the house at 5am! Needless to say I started a fire ASAP and had it going non stop for 4 days until it got back to 60F.
This morning I had 12F. Heat was only at 65F this morning and fire burnt all night.
Y'all see any snow flurries the other day?

We were 8 here this morning. This cold weather is gettin' old- I'm trying to build a house, and the main floor isn't heated or insulated yet. It's hard to get these old bones goin' on a cold morning.
Yea, we had a good little snow a while back- didn't stick, though. This is my third winter here, and we haven't had any measurable snow on the ground. Last year, Greenville got some, but it didn't stick up here.
