Let's add some ideas for the next gen F-150

This could be a lot of fun. When the 2009 trucks were about to come out, someone started a thread about a similar subject. Many users who participated had owned at least one truck from the previous generations of F-150's and so this was kinda fun yet frustrating for them.

So, we know that the 2015 will have the 360* cameras, future 10 speed, possible future diesel, tailgate locks with the key fob

What cool ideas would you suggest to Ford to add to the next gen trucks? I'll begin:
1. Power rear window where the entire piece of glass moves up and down.
2. A faster way to defrost the windshield either through embedded transparent wires or what ever.
3. Transmission dipstick
4. A more comprehensive B2B and powertrain warranties.

I know there are tons of great ideas out there especially from the guys who really work or play with their trucks.

Pipe dream here but:

Trans temp gauge (good to know when towing/hauling)
Trans cooler as standard equipment
Manual mode (Like what's on the 6 speed in the super duties)
Pyrometer (Diesels)
Boost gauge (Why not?)
Not sure who does the fuel pumps now but Walkers suck...have a Bosch in our 99 and it has been flawless in the 100,000+ miles since added. So Bosch fuel pump
Oil Cooler
Bring back the true manual transmission...6 speed would be nice but I can live with a 5 long as it has a low enough granny and a nice 0.67 O/D
Super Duty style tow mirrors
Crew Cab Long Bed
Manual shift Transfer case (hate ESOF)
Manual over ride locking hubs
FlareSide bed
Extra large cup holders for 72oz mugs
Brake Controller
Boat style cup holders (ones where if you take a turn a bit too sharp the holder pivots so your drink doesn't go flying)
Shackles instead of tow hooks (have them extend maybe 1" or so from the bumper)
Easy to get to truck bottle jack (under the passenger seat is a pain to get in and out)

(No I am not being a troll for the larger cup holders)

The biggest no brainer in the truck industry. I wonder if they are worried about lawsuits of materials hitting someone in the head, but they could always add a grate to protect people.

Ford already had this and did away with that feature. Toyota and I think Nissan use this as an option currently. I actually have a 1990 f series accessory brochure that shows this as an option on those trucks. Personally I'd like to find one to maybe put in my 86 150 when I get to restoring it.

I was just at the Pittsburgh auto show checking out the 2015 F150. That is in my opinion better looking in person than it is in pictures. Anyways I got to talking to a sales rep. from one of the local dealers who proceeded to tell me that last week he talked to rep. from Ford about to learn more of the trucks. he went on to say that he told this gentleman that one of his biggest request is an ecoboost 5.0. The Ford rep. told him that unofficially they are working on it. But officially there is NO such thing in the works. So I'll guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Not in the sense that your superduty does. It's a small dipstick located under the truck on the side of the transmission next to a very hot exhaust pipe. You need special equipment to service the 6R80 transmission.

Roof clearance lights. They haven't been a factory option on the 150 since I believe the 93 model year. In 94 you couldn't get them unless installed yourself. Most dealers wouldn't even install them. I would love a manual trans. and t case with lock out hubs too.

Frdtrklll, or whatever ye name is, I like ye list. But don't they already have transmission coolers? If that Bosch fuel pump is better, yep, I want too.

But, what I REALLY want is:

Highest end truck, platinum, king ranch, WITH RUBBER FLOORS!! Carpet is as useless as **** on a boar hog.
