1955 stock spindle Dimensions

Is there anyone out there that can provide dimensions of a 1955 f100 factory spindle? I am doing a drum to disc conversion and for some reason my spindles are about .280 inches short. I tried calling the makers of the kit and they couldn't provide me with measurements. If I leave out a spacer the kit works fine. But they sell the kit with the spacer and I am trying to figure out where I am off. TIA

Pretty sure some trucks don't need the spacer. How's everything else fit WITHOUT the spacer? Not sure who made you're kit but I would think they would know the length of the spindle???

I looked at some of the older spindles like a 37 and they don't require the washer/spacer. I called speedway and they couldn't tell me much. Just that no one else has ever said anything. I was just hoping to find out if the rotor or the bearing adapter are out dimensionally. Besides that everything appears to fit fine. I am going to try and put the drivers side on tonight and see if it fits differently. If it is the same I will leave out the spacer. Thanks

I believe I got my disk brake kit from speedway and I did not use the spacers on my 56.

Thanks BJ I put the other side on tonight and it ended up exactly the same. I had submitted a question to speedway and called the tech support group. I would have thought they could have told me dimensions too. The answer to the question I posted to them was call the tech group. The tech group was baffled by the problem. So I was at a loss for what to do next. Thanks for the feedback.

No problem. That's what we're all about here.

Thanks Bill! I got it all together and now time to rebuild the rear brakes but this weekend I am going to get it running. Just rebuilt the carburetor.
