All 48-52 F series trucks had the same steering wheels.

I could be wrong, but I believe the 48-52 wheel fits on a tapered shaft with a woodruff key, where the 53+ has a splined shaft. The wheels wouldn't interchange.

This is from member "lowkat":
"I have a 57-60 Ford deluxe pickup wheel on my '48 F1. Probably the same splines into the 1970's but the depth of the wheel increases after 1960 on pickups."

I don't remember seeing any woodruff keys on the shaft of the steering tube where the steering wheel is attached.

I don't know, I've not taken it apart there yet. I haven't looked at a wheel lately, but of some reason my pea brain was remembering a notch on the wheel where a key would fit. If it's not built that way, it's my bad and apologies for the confusion.
