2000 F250 Super Duty Crew Cab

I'm thinking of buying a 2000 Ford Super Duty F-250 V10 with 198,168 on it. What I'm asking is it worth 6900 for it?

Seems like way too much to me. My 99 scab 2wd was only 8k with 72k miles. In great shape (minus a fuel pump).

For a 2 wheel drive truck with 200,000 on it is way too high. In my area those trucks go for 3,500-4,000.00

If it's a 4x4 and the interior is in decent shape id say closer to 5,000.00 is a fair price. Take into account with 200,000 miles on it that it will probably be due for front end work.

Check underneath for rust!!!!!!!! IMOP its worth paying more if the truck is rust free or near rust free.

I bought my 99 extended cab almost 2 years ago for $4000 (if I remember correctly) with over 200,000. I immediately had to rebuid the front end- all tie rod ends and steering ends, inner and outer hub seals, new stub shafts and corresponding U-joints, new bearing/hub assemblies, new rotors and calipers, caliper brackets and brake pins and new locking hubs.

I'm at a touch over 250,000 now, and I'm getting ready to change the ignition coils- I have 2 out completely and one that is malfunctioning.

Most of the reason I had to do so much was probably due to the previous owner doing zero maintenance and upkeep, and then running 36" Swampers on top of that, but the point is- with that many miles, you'll probably have to do something- if not now, then soon- unless the seller has been good on maintenance.

In my opinion, I might have paid a little more than I should have when I bought mine, but SD's seem to command more around here, and it did get me into one. I didn't mind the work I had to do to mine (would have been nice not to do it all at once though). I'd probably do it again.

Is the truck you're looking at a 4x4? If so, I'd try to work them down to between 5500 or 6000 if the maintenance has been done...
