Winter in Vancouver, Wa.

Our first snow came this weekend. Didn't think we would get any this year. Freezing rain is putting a nice shinny layer on top.

We still have not had any that lasted more then 2 days. However, just north of me in Albany, OR got hammered with snow. They recorded 8" in one day.

We make snow cream!

Was just on the phone with my Mom. She made a bunch last night cause the snow is light and fluffy. Perfect for snow cream. She makes it with canned milk.

Reminds her of her childhood.

My mom used to make snow cream for us when we were kids until the atmosphere got poisoned so bad it wasn't safe to eat anymore. Good times that I hope my grandkids get to have and enjoy.

Personally I'm tired of this winter cold and snow. We actually had 5 minutes of sun today before it started misting again. Reminds me of the late 70's and early 80's.

We have been getting snow the last three nights in a row.
Last night we got about 4~5 inches and we are to get the
freeing rain later today. I took that photo about 7 PM.
We got more later that night.

I had to make a store run. Truck was quite happy in the stuff.
However the person that was in front of me going 15 mpg in
the 45MPH lane blocking everyone was not so happy.

It's the people that are afraid to drive in it that can cause problems.
Along with the doorknobs that thing they can go full speed ahead.

I know this stuff is very slick. Used to know a guy that said Western
Washington is more like wet cat $#!t than snow. Out east it dry and not
nearly as slick. and less of a pain to drive on.
But when you get ice
ALL BETS ARE OFF

I only wished that I had used my Nikon
instead of my iPhone to take it.

But that is what happens if you don't take
a good look till the next day. It's a good
background for the computer. If you want
it I can post a better quality image.

Sean

I went an uploaded the larger file.

Of course, being in Portland, something like this can take place.

Benny, I think these "California Kids" are thinking the same thing.
