Folks around here also got a home in Prescott.
Really they winter there and Summer here.

I am Thinking Prescott may well be getting kinda crowded.

Well Bob. I read part of your first post to my wife. She asked how soon you can retire and how much money you have. She said she will go with you.

I was born in Wisconsin ( Janesville ) my folks are from Illinois so we moved back when my dad s dad pasted .I was 5 . I have been stock here most my life.
I moved to Phoenix in August when I was 23 I drove down from Flagstaff on 17 going down to Phoenix and I tell people it was like driving into the armpit of America !! I hated Phoenix . I was going to school at motorcycle mechanics Institute . They put me up in a sh€+ hole called Mitro center . It was 115 the day I moved in and it sucked! :-
I would get the hell out of town and ride my sportbike up to Prescott ! Rt 89 is my favorite road in the hole wide world!!! I would ride up to Jerome . Man I love that place. I look at real estate in Jerome at lest 5 time a mouth to see if I can find some land around there. Not much comes up for sale there. I think I will end up there someday. South of Prescott would work to. I need trees and green.

I moved to Arizona (NW valley) 3 years ago from NY. It is just beautiful here - 300 days of sunshine per year! Real estate taxes are 10 times less than NY, at least compared to where I lived in NY. No humidity every day, no mosquitoes and the other bugs that like the wet weather.

Like Moe said, it does get really hot in the summer time but it's a small price to pay for the great winters. It took us a couple of seasons to adjust but we have adjusted.
Can drive my truck year round, spend so much time outside now. No hurricanes, earth quakes, tornadoes, snow.

Car shows, swap meets, cruise nights - its all here. So glad I left the snow and the cold behind.

I would ride up to Carefree/Cavecreek AZ and have dinner. There was a place with a big fire pit out front and they would cook your steak on the steel rack over it. There was no way I could afford living up there! Lol

Cave Creek is about 20 -30 minutes from me. It is really nice there but like you say, it's a little pricey to live there. I do like to visit there regularly.

The road going there was like ride on a roller coaster up down up down, like 6' bumps in the desert.
