NEWB Grunt checking in - Need 22.5" rims for '65 F600 - FREE BEER AND AMMO !!

He started life with Monrovia FDept - Retired from active service in 1985.

Used for parades and events until 1995 - Then sold to the couple I bought it from.

Mostly original - 3" thick folder full of original documentation and service records from both owners.

Utility boxes that soon will hold a generator/MRE/water/rifle/ammo storage while I hunt for a retro overcab camper.

Had been sitting for about 4 years. Siphoned out the old gas - Drained the old oil - Added fresh of both - Little quirt of starting fluid - Fired right up and nice and smooth and steady.

Carb/master cyl need rebuilds - Obviously on the hunt for those rebuild kits - And tires all the way around.

(FREE BEER AND AMMO for help finding these items...!!)

Gotta admit I didnt even know Ford made a 330 V8 until I found this truck - So my learning curve is just starting.

BFD - I didnt know crap about Indian Motorcycle either until I bought one.

Looking forward to the project - Carry on....

Hi Danny, welcome to the club. Looks like that truck is in great shape for almost 50 years old.

Free beer and ammo, huh? You know how to make friends, don't you

Where in SoCal are you located? Does the truck have power brakes?

The 2V carb kit is EZ to find at any auto parts store, and it's available from Ford. Same: 1962/74 Passenger Cars/Trucks, 1966/74 Bronco, 1969/74 Econoline.

D4AZ-9A586-A (replaced C2AZ-9A586-B) .. 2100 Series 2V Auto-Lite/Motorcraft Carburetor Kit (Motorcraft CT-499-D).

Thanx for the carb info - I'm in Lake Forest - The truck is at Elite Automotive until I source some tires.

I've read here some have switched to 22.5" rims...

Any sources for those tires/rims in the correct bolt pattern?

I've searched the thread archives here but it seems there hasn't been anyone doing this swap recently...

The mechanics are stating there are two master cylinders -

One on the frame and one on the firewall.

They are stating it us a hydraulic power system.

Does that sound correct?

I think there was a company called stockton wheel that used to build custom rims like that $$$ but theyll make em.

The 61-66 forum on FTE is a great resource, helped me alot with my F100

Has anyone run the 9x20 military tires on these old trucks?

Its not a long term solution - Just so I can drive him till I get the 22.5 rims sourced...
