OP said in the first post it's an F-1. Why would you be expecting Mercury badging? Just because it's Canadian?

For example, here is a picture of a 1958 Australian Ford Star: (obviously rebadged 1955 US Ford sheetmetal)

There were Canadian Fords as well as the Mercurys. I'm sure there were other differences, but the tailgate was a bit different than the US version. I saw this at the Barrie, ON swap meet a couple of years ago. Thought about it for mine as it was different but couldn't see bringing it home on the plane!

Hey guys the truck is an 51 Ford F1. the vin# given to the MTO confirmed that. funny thing, I do have a Mercury steel tag with no vin# in the glove box door. I just thought that the glove box door was replaced in its journeys.

Well I did want to start it today but ran into a little snag. I replaced the cap and rotor, new oil, and put in new plugs. I went down the list of things to check before starting and a buddy asked if I checked the exhaust for mice nests, so I did. Well guess what its missing everything!! so I called it a day until I can find some headers for her..

I should start getting used to things not going the way I want.

Some Canadian engines came with full-flow oil filtration, yours may well have it! Looks closely at your bellhousing area where the lines to the filter connect to the block. See below for configuration. The larger element for the full-flow system is NAPA # 1021, if that's what you have. The oil pressure sender on the lid of the filter is another big clue.
