damn manufacturers making parts obsolete!!
the needle and seat in the carb on the generator stuck.
i took it off to clean it up. in the process of removing it, the electrical coil part of the solenoid that activates the manually switched electric choke fell apart. (it has been acting up for the past 2 years)
no problem, i will just call the onan dealer and get a new one.
well, you guessed it, NLA.
i mean really, this unit is almost new, it was just made back in 1954, and converted to 12 volts in 1962.
now what to do??
i looked all over the place, but no luck on used parts either.
so tomorrows project is to fabricate a manual choke system.
and of coarse, the carb has been NLA for the past 30 years too, so i cant even find a manual choke shaft for it.
