I replaced the original Motorcrafts with Sear Diehard Platinum Plus after 7 years. The Diehards have been installed for 5 years. I just had an alternator go bad (internal short). It completely drained the batteries. Replaced alternator and recharged batteries. Good to go. Really like the Diehards, even though a little pricey. Great warranty and Sears service.
It's my understanding that Johnson Controls makes all DieHard batteries except the Platinums. The Platinums are made by Enersys, the company who manufactures Odyssey Batteries.
Everything I could find on the Platinums pointed to this, especially considering they're an AGM battery. It's worth noting to anyone considering these batteries.
I'm not voting yet. Had a dead cell with a 1.5 year Autozone Duralast battery, they replaced that "one" and the other one went a year later. Went to Costco next and then read somewhere the same company that makes Autozone's makes Costco's. One year now on the Costco batteries.
