99f350 to 99/2000 f250/350 mut

Little extra time on my hands tonight, been browsing the forums. Figured i'd post my truck and its progress

Started out a 1999 f350, long wheel base, automatic, utility bed.

Motor developed horrible blow by. I could of put a motor in the truck but then i'd still have a long wheel base (personally I really like swb. Turns better, looks better IMO) and an automatic which would probably go out at any time...

Luckily my dad had a 2000 model that he'd had for sometime. Short wheel base, 6 speed, 280k miles (original injectors!!) and still going strong. Only downside was the cab was beat up and rusted out.

So I started the cab swap...

And now this is my truck. Found out finding a short wheel base bed thats in good shape for less than 2 grand is harder than what would might imagine. Still trying to figure out what to do there... Could make a flat bed? or just bite the bullet and save for a good pickup bed.

Good job there Steven!

A flat bed wouldn't be bad. Aluminum would be great, but probably pricy.

Thought about making an alum bed but, the extra weight of steal would be nice and I dont have anything to weld alum.
