My 4wd has not worked since I bought my truck. I never was concerned with it until now. I need it some kind of bad.
I read somewhere on here that there is a bolt on the transfer case that I can. Turn with a 9/16 I believe. Can somebody tell me which bolt? What side?
The "bolt" is the selector stem that the shifter motor is hiding.
Pull the shifter motor... then look up where it was and you will see the doo dad you need to put a wrench on...
I'm not aware of a manual override. Can you diagnose the switch to the electric motor.
There is a relay activated by the 4x4 switch. Did you check fuses and the transfer case shift motor relay? Are you getting 12 volts to the xfer case motor when turning the switch. You can disconnect the connector and put a test light on and turn the switch from 2H to 4H and see if you have power.
possible problems
1. Xfer case shift motor
2. Dash switch
3. Relay
4. Fuse
5. broken wire
6. GEM or PCM

I've checked the switch and the relay from what I've read on here. Both are working right. I've just never made it to the selector. Now I'm kicking my self in the ace
