hey guys been working on my brothers truck a little lately trying to get it moving again. i found the right rear brake lockedup due to a bad seal allowing the grease to contaminate the shoes. anyways im tryin to get it all fixed again but im having troubles finding a socket for the main bearing nut. any help would be appreciated
Wrenches are available. Shown is the correct KD wrench for the Dana 60, 2 9/16". Measure the nut on your axle. Most good auto parts stores will have the socket. Some stores may even have loaners. I bought mine at NAPA.
I won't but if I can at least get it off then illI'll be able to figure out what parts iI need/find correct ones and find a correct socket to put it back together
Look at the KD part number on the special wrench. Sorry it is upside down. Read the very fine print on the arrows of my picture. This is what happens when the nuts are removed with a hammer and punch.
Edit: disclaimer on the size of the axle nuts on your truck.
Just go into like Napa and ask for a spindle nut socket. Explain to the
counter kid what it is. Cost is only a few bucks. I also use a chisel and BFH.
most of the time as they are in the tool box and I have to look hard for my spindle
socket.
