240 ci Carb Question
Ive got a 1966 F-100 with the 240ci straight six and a 3 speed manual. It needs a new carb because the autolite 1100 one barrel that's on it is junk. Ive already rebuilt that one but it was no use. Ive got a rochester carb off a late 60s/ early 70s chevy c10 with a 250 straight six fully rebuilt and is known to run. My question is can i bolt up the Rochester on the Ford engine and run it? I'm not looking for maximum performance, just to get it running. I know ill have to mess with the throttle and choke cables, but that's not a big deal. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Not sure about the Rochester, but your Autolite 1100 is a great carb in essence. I have one on my 1966 F250 4x4 300 6 and it runs like a watch. If I needed it rebuilt I'd probably use this guy.

But, your choice if you want to go with the Rochester. I've got a Rochester Quadrajet 4 bbl on my Trans Am and it rocks.

240 ci carb
Hi, I drive a '65 F-100 with a 240 ci 6 too. It has a Tomco I- 92 carb on it now. I made the original one live waaaay past what carbs usually last for. I was and still am grateful to have found the mentioned carb thru my local parts store. That was probably 8/10 years ago. You can probably still find this carb. Lemme know what you do. Cheers, Pete
