'49 ford f-1 build















my stuff-'75 ford truck inline 6 ,300 cu.in., np-235 4 speed trans. w/ PTO ,'48 -'50 ford cab,'49 ford f-1 front clip, box and rolling chassis.....damaged exhaust manifold...solution, upgrade...Offenhauser DP intake, 4bbl. EFI exhaust manifolds,upgrade ignation..not sure yet....here is the modified cab....this was a result of a trade: my '64 ford f-100, 460, c-6, for the '49 ford f-1, cab, chassis, clip ,box, inline and trans, I'm happy!

despte being a bent 8 man i'm glad to see a six being chosen for this . it's different .

decreased motor,have more detailing to do before painting...found a significant crack in one of the EFI exhaust manifolds,my have to swap it out but tried JB Weld, that might work........





last picture is of the other EFI undamaged manifold

JB weld cant handle the heat. It will crumble apart. Take it to a welding shop, they should be able to do the cast iron.

thanks for the info. I had a funny feeling it wouldn't work so I searched ebay and found another rear EFI exhaust and did a "BUY It NOW".

been cleaning up the frame getting ready to box in where the motor mounts will go........not sure yet if I should extend the box plate past the steering box,or will have enough strength the way I mocked it up.......

got the passenger side boxing plate for the frame semi-completed and ruffed in...I've got some ideas I have to research before I weld it in place.I need accessibility behind the plate,so I'm going to search for some cool ideas.....

Looks like a good start to your build, those 300's are tuff engines.

mocked up the drivers side boxing plates.......getting ready to mock up the motor, motor mounts and see what has to be modified on the transmission cross member
