I have read a lot on here about it, and before i drop some money at a mechanic i was gonna see what y'all think. I have a 2008 6.4 fx4 with 101,000 miles. I filled up and drove and drain light came on, shortly after the wrench appeared. I drained it underneath and a steady stream flowed out, and nothing changed. The truck is in limp mode and won't go higher than 65 ish. I ran code and it says p2269 which water in the fuel code. My question is can i delete code and see if it gets out of limp mode(will it?). I changed the filters yesterday and the lower filter had brownish gunk built up all over it. I cleaned out housing and lid. it has a steady flow of diesel but light remains on. Will it go off if fixed or do i need to clear code. Do i need to take in, i just don't wanna have to mess up that fuel pump. What y'all think.
Check the sensor well they use a conductivity type sensor that sets off when water connects the electrodes. could have gunk built up on em. so clean it up real nice and try again.
