Carr is the brand, i have them on my 77, they are solidly built.......They were added by a previous owner. For whatever reason, the picture isnt loading. they drop down maybe 5 or 6 inches below the door, and are just wide enough to fit a big heavy workboot. assuming they are still made, they likely would work for your application.....

I had these welded up using some diamond plate after my wife had a glass of wine and fell out of the truck getting out.

Iam in the same boat but I have a 79 crew cab that I would like to put a step on but not finding much on the net, the way it sounds I might have to fab some up, but would like to see some pictures of some other before jumping into it.

My photo wouldnt load, Google "Carr steps" it comes right up with pictures......they are called Carr hoop steps

I guess cutting off the Wife's wine wasnt a viable option?

I went with the DeeZee diamond plate steps, they mount to the frame. They don't make them for 73-79 style anymore, but I was able to adapt the ones from a late model Ford

I would think so, the mounting point seems to rotate to accommodate different vehicles.....if nothing else, you could cut a piece of 1-1/2 to 2", angle iron or square tube and combined with this step, fine tune it for your application.
