RSK Questions

While my old gal is down for new brake lines / master cylinder / calipers / wheel cylinders, I'm going to do a reverse shackle kit.

PMF and Sky both have RSKs for Superduty springs. PMF's is less pricey, but Sky provides more new hardware. PMF does offer tow eyes and a receiver, so I'm leaning towards PMF with tow eyes and receiver. Does anyone have strong opinions on one or the other? Or whether I "really" need the new hardware in the Sky kit?

Past discussions that I recollect suggested Superduty V-code springs for good ride. Looks like those are 43-814's, and a bit lighter than X-code 43-818's. I'm looking for ride comfort with adults in the cab, and will not have a plow or other heavy weight on the front end. So V-code 43-814's? Any preferred sources for springs?

Looks like the minimum lift is 2.25", so I probably need new shocks. Anything else I should swap due to the lift? Pitman arm, track bar, etc.?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You are going to need the trackbar drop bracket and to extend your sway bar end links. Also, a drop pitman arm is highly recommended. I was due for shocks anyway so I replaced when I installed my RSK, but I think you might be able to get away with reusing your other ones. I sourced all my hardware and bracketry from PMF, shocks came from a Rancho distributor I found locally.

If it's still the same sky minum lift is 3" vs pmf 2.25. it just depends on how much lift you can deal with and spring rates will change it too.
It's all what you want.

I'm looking into doing this myself soon. I believe its the "U" code springs that are the nice riding ones. The V-s will work but be stiffer.

Longer brake lines are a must in my opinion as the stock length were stretched tight with the stock TTB at full extension. I also vote for the drop pitman and the drop track bar bracket. My stock track bar was the wrong length (I don't recall if too short or long) and I eventually ordered an adjustable from PMF too. I selected the U codes and when set back in the ground they were completely flat, no upward or downward arch, and rode very smooth. Shocks can be used to limit suspension extension but should never be used to limit compression, so new shocks might help you get more travel from your front end, but are not critical if they are still new. I have now bought three sets of leafs from Junior at atssprings.com and won't buy anywhere else unless he can't provide them.
