Torque will read codes that throw the check engine light and show some live data.

Alex do you have your tablet mounted anywhere? Thats the only thing I'm missing, and I got a 10" tablet too, its really pry too big for this application, but at least everything is easy to see. lol

Absolutely Glenn!

And I don't have a tablet currently. I just use my phone, but my roommates says there are a crazy amount of options for tablets/surfaces out there so I will be researching it.

I kind of thought about altering the deck to have a larger touch screen option that could control my stereo and have the ability to connect and display to the bluetooth dongle.

That way I have more justification than just purchasing a tablet to view gauges. lol

Also, cost is a huge thing for me. Being able to put it into perspective compared to what all of those individual gauges cost, compared to whatever tablet/screen i decide.

Also with the fiddling around in composite materials I was keeping in my that whatever I pick might be an option for a custom dash setup to permanently install the screen.

Lots on my mind. Little time. I have to write a paper today. lol

So the 99-03 PID's are the same as the OBS PID's? I have a 96 F350. Thanks for a great thread.

Some may be the same, but I think most are different.

A couple of guys from PSN worked with a guy on the torque pro forum to develop a trans temp formula. I can post it if need be, I have it wrote down at home. Its a 3rd order polynomial though.

Thanks. Mine is a standard so I mainly need the ones DIY mechanic has on device in his first post of this thread.

I am gettin most of my info here :
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rque-pids.html
I now this is linked earlier in this thread but I didn't know how much of this would apply to my OBS. Thanks
EDIT: Page 7 of this thread helped answered my questions. Thanks

I wish there was a convenient way to just dump the PID set out of Torque and backup or restore it. I have yet to figure out how to do that though. All the PIDs I have in there, I built by hand, one at a time.

Apparently you can write a .CSV file and load it in as a predefined list. A guy in the SD forum did just that and he even found a way to put all his custom pids at the top of the list! Maybe I'll have time to figure it out today and post up the file this weekend.

Yeah, I saw that. I haven't really looked into it again, but I don't recall seeing anywhere in the app to export the PIDs even as a CSV. Let me know if you find it...

What would you want to export? Anything custom can be in that file so you can send them to anyone. I think I could make an obs list and share with everyone. My grandma came over to see the baby today so I haven't got to play with it today.

It would be nice to be able to export the custom PID list that you make so that it could be imported again into someone else's device. Kind of like saving all the OBS PIDs as a custom PID list.

Yeah I'll have to recreate all my custom gauges in the .CSV file, but then anyone should be able to use it.

Are you just manually writing the CSV file? It seems like there should be a way to save a PID you make as a CSV file...

If for nothing else, it would be nice to be able to back up your custom PID list. I had the app flake out on me once and erase every custom PID I had. I had to start from scratch...
