DPF Delete POST EPA Preventing Sale of Tuners
New to the forum.
I have a 2008 6.4L, I recently bought a AFE Scorcher tuner, Cx Intake and ATLAS 5" downpipe back exhaust. Come to find out that the Scorcher doesn't support the DPF delete. Ive installed the intake and the High Performance Tune and so far the truck is getting better milage and running well with more power. I have the exhaust still in the box, bc im getting a lot of conflicting advice as to whether or not I should go ahead with the DPF delete. Most people say delete it, but I cant find a tuner that will turn off the regen....only thing I found was "DPF-R DPF Delete Module 4.0 Plus, Ford (2008-10) 6.4L Power Stroke" but cant find any reviews of the product. Want to keep the mgp/hp/tq gains from the Scorcher tuner, and just shut the damn regen off, HELP! Its killing me to let my nice new 5" exhaust sit in the box.....

i just installed a DPF-R 4.0 Plus on my dads 6.4. Did a write-up/review over on another board, i dont think i'm allowed to link it directly here but its on Powerstroke . org in the 6.4L General section called Gearbox Z DPF-R 4.0 Plus Review. I'd PM you the link but its not allowing me to.

yea i was thinking about that, over size the hole some, and then slide a pipe inside and weld it interanally, so it looks and sounds stock, like if you tapp on the side of the DPF it wont sound hollow. and then you dont have to worry about the honey comb getting tore up by hot exhaust going through it.

Had some thoughts about making a fake until I actually did the delete. Im sure it could be done but would take a lot to do it. I guess if you live somewhere that they actually check them for anything other then inspection it would be worth it. If anyone came up with a good one I would buy it, beats having to put the dpf and cat back on once a year.

I've seen some u-tube vids show how to bore out the DPF. It's basically a piece of rock inside. It should work fine but it won't do anything about a snap test if they're checking for smoke.
Here in SJ, they do a visual check for the DPF and EGR components and look to see if anything is missing
