What headers for a 351

I have a 56 with a 351 cleveland about to go back in. I was wondering if anyone is running headers other than sanderson? I'm having a hard time finding all the measurements to determine if they will fit in there without issues.

nope - good ol' cast iron on mine.

I want to change them out because all the non-car people I show off to say - "it's all rusty" - drives me crazy - shiny crazy custom made up truck & all they see is the darn cast iron header

Keep us posted on what you end up doing. I'm thinking about changing my cast iron manifold out too.

351c headers

I used 71 mustang mach 1 headers on my 54 f100. they fit fairly tight to the block but were not hard to install. I have transdapt motor mounts and had to grind 1/8 " off them to clear the bottom tubes. I also had to cut a 1/4" notch in the passenger side header exhaust extension flange to clear the transmission oil pan.they are also close to the frame mount brake master cylinder and power brake unit. I used hedman s-bend style universal exhaust extension - they make it much easier to line up your pipes. I would recommend using header wrap on at least the lower pipes to keep heat off the brake unit, the starter, and transmission pan.

Before you toss out the iron mani's, try coating them with this. Brush it on and let it bake in. Works good, looks good.

I bought a pair of 351C 4 barrel headers at a swap meet but haven't tried to install them. Their pretty banged up and they were cheap but the seller didn't know who made them. Thought I might be able to make them work when the time comes.

I have a 1986 351w in mine, and was not successful on headers, I'm using the Toyota PS kit and on the drivers side, not much room with that gear box.

I installed Sanderson's huggers on my 351w and it was really tight with the Toyota box. I have the engine dead center in the frame and there's not much clearance on either side but they do work.
