I have an 07 f250 5.4l automatic 4x4 It has always been a problem putting fuel in the truck and now the problem is getting worse. It appears that the filler tube is nearly horizontal between the filler port and tank. if the truck is on an angle or has a load in the bed this tube angles down to the filler port and fuel will not go into the tank at all. Has any one else had this problem and did you find a way to fix it?

 

At work I had a 08 f350 with the 5.4 and it eventually got to the point that you could barely put fuel in(took 25 min to fill once). Problem was with the evap system, ford changed that and all vent lines to fuel tank. That solved the problem.

 

my 04 F350 with 5.4 never had an issue but when I had the bed off this summer I noticed the vent hoses from the tank were all dry rotted. Replaced them with thicker vacuum line from the parts store and my truck fills up faster now at the gas stations..... Crawl under the truck and look at the vent lines their probably all deteriorated
