rear dvd replacement issue
2005 ford expedition eddie bauer, (hopefully im posting in the right place)
Hello all, Im installing a new flip down dvd player as a replacement to the factory one. I have the 20 pin connector in there. Im trying to make the audio work through the factory stereo. I understand what wires they are but it doesn't want to work for sound. since removal of the old, I no longer have option to switch to dvd from the head unit. Its not recognized that its on. It just switches between radio and cd player. The inginion on power was too weak to operate the unit (11 volts) so i used the constant power (12v) in the harness and just used a relay to work with the ignition on. Do i need to give power to the illumination wire maybe? Or maybe it just cant be done.. In a couple of months im changing the head unit so its really just a temporary thing.. If it cant be done, its really no big deal, just figured i would ask..
