48 F5 COE in Washington state

I belong to the ATHS and received this month's Wheels of Time mag today. I saw this classified and thought I would share, in case somebody in the N/W would be interested.

1948 Ford F5 COE, no engine. Rust in rear corners. 2 spd rear axle avail. Ford F8 avail for cab parts & engine $300 for both. Pete (509) 520-1174

I suspect the price may be a misprint, but it should be worth checking out.

You never know. That could be a correct price. Maybe they're really motivated to sell. Maybe it's an older person just clearing out. Worth a call.

He could get twice that much just for scrap. If the price is really $300 someone will jump on it. Unless they're both in the middle of nowhere and it'll cost a fortune to truck them.

Being that it's an ad in the ATHS magazine, I would assume this person would not want to see this going to scrap.

I agree, probably willing to let it go cheap to someone who will save it.
It's likely within a days drive of me.......but I don't dare call, I'm neck deep in "projects" now.......

Scott, you're the only person worthy of saving it. You could build a COE crew cab next. Go get it!!

I almost hate to admit this in front of this many enablers, but it is kinda in my neighborhood. Google says the phone prefix is a cell phone out of Walla Walla. Do we have any other info on what he has? Is there an online link to the ad by chance? If he's an ATHS member, likely he knows what the stuff is worth. But from what's described, it sounds more like a pile of parts, rather than whole trucks. Hmmm.

Yeah, Bob, I've been drooling on that one for quite a while now. It's been for sale for probably a year or so. It's way more money than I want to spend on yard art, though. Allegedly, it's an old Coca Cola truck.
