Non stock, comfortable truck seat...any suggestions?

My truck has the stock seat and its not bad. I lacks a bit in the comfort area though. I saw this seat in a truck that is for sale on the hamb and the current owner thinks it is from a cadillac but is not sure. Any one have any suggestions for an old school, comfortable seat that works well in our trucks? Thanks.

I had a bench seat but swapped it for buckets. The bench seat was just too big and took up too much space IMHO.

The buckets I got are out of a 2006 VW Jetta. I liked them because they have a thin back and don't come forward too far.

Bench or bucket? I found some cheap($20.00!) Toyota cloth-covered buckets and I really like them. They do not look as traditional as a bench but they ride quite well. The shop that sold them didn't know what actual vehicle they came from. My other truck is a Tundra and these seats are essentially identical to the Tundra's with the exception that these are fully manual. What I really like about buckets is the availability of decent lateral support for both my back and legs.

I am thinking that I would most likely want a bench seat, leather; or a split bench. The one in my first post is awesome looking. I don't care too much for a modern looking seat in a 60 year old truck but to each their own.

A good upholstery guy can do wonders with a stock seat. Here is a buddy's 55 F100 with a "stock" seat...

B/B Ford, great looking truck! Good colour, makes a great combination with a lovely interior and great looking mags. I would love to do my truck with a white or cream interior, but have reservations about me keeping it clean for everyday use.

Can you tell me what mags you have, are they by any chance Billet Specialties Mag? What size are they? I love the Billet specialties L59 Mag , but they would cost about $2500-$3000 here for 4 wheels.

I'm going to use a set of swivel buckets from a 74 Laguna S3. I haven't fitted them yet, but the only mod I might have to make is added height to the pedestal.

Tks Aus56, They are American Racing TORQTHRUST II's.

16"x8"in front and 17"x11"in back.

They were $1100. back in 2006 for all four.

B/B, thanks for the response. It was hard to see the shape of the spokes in the pictures, to see the curve in the spokes. I like the slim spokes they have, similar to the Billets I would like.

I have been tossing up for a while between a few wheels, mainly Showwheels, Junkyard dogs, and now once again, Torq thrust 11's. Been putting it off for a while, got to make a decision soon. I need to get the front or rear discs and hubs/axles drilled to give me a matching wheel pattern all around and then it's wheels and new tyres. I like the 17" wheels.

Sorry to hijack the thread fellas, now back to your usual programming.

I concur. While my seat is not nearly as nice as Charlie's buddy. Wonders can be done with a stock seat by a good upholstery person. Also no new mounting bracketry has to be made... Here is mine in my 55'
