Bill dutting's Rat rod pu???

Does anyone have info or a build thread on this F1 rat rod? I know it's not for everyone but I would like to look into it a bit more.
Thanks for any info.

You may have better results at the HAMB - more rodders there.

Here's what you're looking for. Whoever put this video together "stole" a picture of my own F-5 and used it as a before-type picture of what an F-5 looks like originally. Somebody posted this on FTE a couple years ago, and I thought the top of my head was gonna blow off when I saw my own truck's picture in the video. I thought I was having hallucinations, LOL.

When I saw the picture I immediately remember the thread.

It looks like we went off on one of our tangents.

Doc, did you ever get royalties for the use of your picture?

Oh no. I didn't even bother to check into it further.

Thanks for the info. Sorry to drag up so many horrible memories for everyone, I hope this won't set anyone too far back in their therapy sessions. LOL

The main thing I was wanting to check was what was used for his front axel, looked like parts from a twin I-beam but I am not real familiar with that set up. Turns out that it was from a 97 F350 2wd.

I am designing a mini Peter-built and needed some front axel ideas so thanks again for the help.

Check out FlyinBrian's DiamondT build on the HAMB, sounds more like what you're contemplating?

Looks like he may have been a bit stuck. I hate it when that happens.

That's a pretty neat truck. I would like to see it in person to check out the engineering that went into that build. The video doesn't get into that enough as far as I'm concerned which doesn't give the builder enough credit for the mechanical work. There is so much detail missing in that video. Cool truck though even if it isn't your cup of tea I'm sure anyone can appreciate the thought and work that went into it.

I do like the seats he made. Nice look with the leather weave with pop rivets.

The HAMB is not the place to mention the term "rat rod". You'll get eaten alive over there. The only thing worse than mentioning "rat rod" is mentioning it without do an intro.

Stealing an image of your truck isn't the only travesty perpetrated in this video, IMO, the entire idea of rat rods make me cringe but I've given my thoughts on the subject numerous times. The thing that cracks me up is when some who is obviously middle aged and has some bucks still builds a piece of crap. I thought the whole idea of rat rods are vehicles cobbled together by someone who doesn't have the financial resources to do a quality job.
