to check King Pins, jack the truck up one side at a time and with a large pry bar try lifting the tire from underneath. If there is alot of movement in the wheel chances are king pins are bad but alot of times they have not been greased in quite some time and just a quick shot of grease will take any/all movement out. Chances are though based on what you are describing the play is in the steering system (tie rod, pitman arm, drag link, or most likely the box itself is worn and has play at the output shaft, you might also have a worn rag link. If the king pins are bad indeed it is no small job and can be quite the pain in the a#%^$%
Will be doing the radius arm bushings in the next week or so.
I finally went under it and checked and the bracket that holds the end of the radius arm to the frame is bolted on.
I think I will be able to just remove the bolt on the radius arm, then unbolt the bracket to the frame.
Would the arm have any pressure on the bracket when I go to remove it?
